Bentonite Clay and Apricot Scrub for Dry Skin

Hello Berries!

Well, as life would have it, my skin went crazy as soon as I posted my skin care post. So I am currently in search of some new products. To combat most of this, I did do a clay mask and facial scrub, which helped a lot. I do need to find new products to get my skin under control, so if you have any recommendations, please leave them below.

**** This is what I do for my skin and even though my seborrheic dermatitis has relapsed, this has really worked for me. I do not have any exact measurements, because I mix until I am happy with my product. This time I made too much, so I have the leftovers in the fridge until next week.

Bentonite Clay Mix

I mix Bentonite clay with a mixture of half apple cider vinegar, half aloe vera juice. I try to move most of the lumps out by mixing with my finger, because it is easier for me.

I apply it to my face and neck, allowing it to dry for about 15-20 minute.

After drying, I rinse my face with warm water and blot dry with a clean towel.

Apricot Face Scrub

After drying my face, I dampen it again and apply my St. Ives Apricot scrub.

I focus mainly on my t-zone where my skin is the most affected.

I rinse my face once again and apply Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer.

Question: Do you ever use facial mask? What kind?

Thanks for staying beautiful

XOXO

Dealing with Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic Dermatitis has been something that I’ve been dealing with since I was 15. It’s not debilitating, very painful, contagious, or life threatening; it’s just EXTREMELY annoying and very hard to deal with. You have the flaking, the itching, the redness, and the sensitive skin. And once all of this stops, you’re left with the tell-tell sign of the discoloration. I hate it! I hate the skin on my face and how it flakes and becomes inflamed, and I become self-conscious, because I have a huge butterfly mark across my face and it burns if anything touches it! This can be treated with a mild soap and shea butter with coconut oil and scrubbing the first layer of skin off my face. However to treat the discoloration, I use monistat and I swear this works and it works well. It just makes my skin unbelievably greasy, but it also makes my skin all even and smooth! I also hate my scalp, because my scalp seems to be infested by Satan himself! It’s red and angry ALL THE TIME!!! I’ve tried Head & Shoulders and Neutrogena and MG217 and my scalp still hates me. The Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength worked for awhile, but after about three months my scalp was back angry and the flaking wasn’t completely gone. So I tried MG217 and it is my holy grail! It works. It slows down the growth and helps with the inflammation and the itchiness. However I choose not to use this after the first two weeks, because it contains coal tar, a known carcinogenic and I can’t risk getting cancer just to stop an itchy scalp. I’m starting a new regimen with the shampoo, because I really need something that works. Well, I” figure it out later. Well, until later *smoochies* Berries!
